The key to successful fundraising is being creative about your approach and finding a funding opportunity that fits with your idea. A play project can be about much more than just play for children, and this means that the funding opportunity you pursue could also have a different focus, such as skilling up the workforce, community cohesion, crime reduction, etc. The focus could be on increasing opportunities for disabled children, helping to increase levels of confidence and self esteem of children living in a deprived area, or using volunteers and so developing the skills of the local workforce.

It is also important that we are all supporting the young people that we work with to think about the services that they think will work - the Islington Play Association can help young people apply for funds to create new projects too.
