Early Years Worker 

POST: Early Years Worker 

HOURS: 35 hours per week, all year round

SALARY: LBI NJC Scale 3 EYW (£21,189-£22,298) per annum

LOCATION: Paradise Park Children’s Centre 

RESPONSIBLE TO: Nursery Manager and Deputy Nursery Manager 

We have the opportunity for you to join our mission through working in our play-focused nursery, rated as ‘Good, with outstanding features’ by Ofsted, and the first UK early years provision to be awarded the ‘Quality in Play’ kitemark.

This position is based at Paradise Park Children’s Centre, in the heart of Islington. Our Children’s Centre is a unique exciting place to work where no two days are the same. Expect to be amazed and inspired by the depth and breadth of the innovative and original ideas of children at play.

IPA is looking for an Early Years Worker who, as well as being an advocate for play is also resourceful, innovative, reflective and committed to our values. We believe that children’s play is fundamentally important and if you think you would be great at helping to make their ideas a reality then we want you.

Sessional Playworker 

POST: Playworker (Sessional)
HOURS: As and when
SALARY: £11.82 per hour including holiday pay
LOCATION: Adventure playgrounds and Events throughout Islington and City of London.

Islington Play Association is a vibrant, proactive children’s charity. Our aim is simple – to create, provide, improve and protect places for the children of Islington to play. 

We are looking for creative, playful people to become part of the teams at our adventure playgrounds in the summer holidays. They will also have the chance to support children’s play during exciting street events organised in partnership with the Museum of London

This post would suit someone who wants to work flexibly on an as-and-when basis. If you think you would be good at helping to make children’s ideas a reality then we want you!

Trustees (3 positions)

Islington Play Association is a vibrant, proactive children’s charity. Our aim is simple: We want an Islington where all children can play outside.

IPA believes that play is what children do when they are allowed the freedom to explore their world. Our play places are unique, exciting places where no two days are the same.

IPA runs 6 adventure playgrounds, including one specifically for children with additional needs, Paradise Park Children’s Centre and many other play projects across the borough. We welcome parents and carers across our services to support children to access play opportunities.

As we look for new ways to bring in funding and keep expanding our services in a time of reducing budgets and increasing needs, we are looking for resourceful, creative and committed people to strengthen our Board of Trustees. Expect to be amazed and inspired by what the children get up to and help us to make sure that more children get to play.

We are looking for three Trustees who:

  • Want to support adventure play and other children’s activities in Islington.
  • Have an interest in and experience of play
  • Have personal integrity, good communication skills, think independently, have common sense and vision.
  • Have knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas: fundraising, communications, marketing, capital projects, change management or the charity sector.
  • Are committed to ensuring that play is open to and beneficial to all children, regardless of ability, race, gender

These are non-remunerated positions (expenses paid) and all Trustees are asked to give the equivalent of 10 meetings per annum mostly weekday evenings with occasional weekends for Board meetings, sub-committee meetings, annual away days and ad-hoc trustee panels.

You will be joining a highly respected organisation in the world of play delivering excellent, high quality children’s services informed by the theories of Playwork.  You can be part of making a real difference for the children of Islington.
